Frome Voices
Rehearsals
Frome Voices normally performs one (or sometimes two) concerts a year. Singers sign up for each concert and pay a subscription which includes the cost of rehearsals. Vocal scores are available for hire for a small additional charge.
Spring Concert 2026
Sunday 22 March 2026, 7.30pm - Cheese and Grain, Frome
We welcome all comers. There are no auditions but some experience of reading music is undoubtedly an advantage. We expect singers to attend all rehearsals, as far as possible. Please bring water, a pencil, your singing voice and lots of enthusiasm!
Rehearsals are normally on Friday evenings from 7.30 to 9.30pm at Selwood Academy, Berkley Road, Frome BA11 2EF

There are a number of excellent websites which can help you to learn your choral part and you can find them on our Resources page (update pending rehearsals start).
2026 Subscription Details
Subscription for our next concert is £75.00 which covers 10 rehearsals, the concert experience and includes the hire of all scores. A bargain! For those in full time education, the rate is only £30.
If anyone wishing to sing finds the cost prohibitive, please speak in confidence to
Mary Gatliffe or Carol Holt at the first rehearsal.
Please note that subscriptions payments are by BACS transfer only and more information will be given to subscribers via email and at the first rehearsal.
We have a limited number of spaces and our choir for 2026 is filling up fast.
However we can always add you to our waiting list and you can join our mailing list for future events.

The deadline for applications is Monday 08 December 2025.
Please register your interest ASAP as there is often a demand for places and in the interest of balance of voices within the choir, we may not be able to accept everyone.

1. Your name and contact details: email and phone number
2. Your voice: soprano/alto/tenor/bass
If you already know you would be unable to attend 2 or 3 of the 10 rehearsals please state this.
We will contact all prospective singers again during the deadline week.
Concert Dress
For most concerts, we wear all black – skirts or trousers and tops for women and black shirts and trousers for men. Jackets and ties are not necessary.
