Carmina Burana is always a popular work and this project attracted new voices to the choir, swelling its ranks to nearly 120.  It was a capacity audience, and large orchestra too.  A dramatic sound that raised the roof of the Cheese and Grain.

As a contrast, the concert opened with Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s Hiawatha’s Wedding Feast, a work that used to be very popular but is little heard now.
